Man arrested for two hit-and-runs in Denham Springs
DENHAM SPRINGS- Louisiana State Police arrested a man for two hit-and-runs, one of which sent a teen to the hospital with life-threatening injuries late Friday night. Police say the suspect was also involved in a crash in the parking lot of a local bar earlier that same night.
State Police say 34-year-old Andrew J. Williams, of Denham Springs, admitted to both hit-and-runs. According to investigators, there was also damage to Williams' pickup truck that was consistent with both crashes.
State Police identified the victim in the hit-and-run as 17-year-old Justin Beck, of Denham Springs. Police say Beck was walking his bike down the side of the road when he was hit from behind. Beck was rushed to the hospital and later released to recover at home.
Williams was booked in the Livingston Parish Prison and charged with two counts of hit-and-run driving, negligent injury, reckless operation and texting while driving.
