Man arrested for trying to kill girlfriend's unborn child
BATON ROUGE- Authorities arrested a Baton Rouge man after investigators said he tried to kill his girlfriend's unborn child.
Deputies accused 18-year-old Darrell Johnson of attempted second degree feticide and domestic abuse battery charges.
Investigators said on Feb. 20 Johnson and his girlfriend, who was seven months pregnant, got into an argument. Deputies said say Johnson slapped her, knocked her to the ground, and started choking her.
Deputies said he also kicked her in the stomach at least once while she was on the floor, and as he left told her "I never wanted that baby anyway."
The sheriff's office said doctors ran tests, but weren't aware of any damage to the unborn child.
