Man arrested for terrorizing near high school
GONZALES - A man seen walking near East Ascension High School in Gonzales with a hand gun Tuesday morning, is now behind bars.
Police say 19-year-old Blaine Dearmond was pointing the weapon, which was a BB gun, at several students. Dearmond was currently on probation for burglaries in Ascension Parish and had just been kicked out of the home, he was residing in with his father.
Dearmond told investigators, that he took weapon from his father's home and was meeting another individual outside of East Ascension High School to give it to him.
Dearmond was booked into Ascension Parish Prison on Terrorizing charges that carries a maximum fine of fifteen thousand dollars and 15 years in prison.
