Man arrested for raping an 11-year-old
A 48-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in the rape of an 11-year-old, according to police records.
Mark Ferguson was booked with first-degree rape in the crime, which the girl said occurred in 2015 but was revealed only recently, according to Ferguson's arrest warrant.
The girl's mother was recently monitoring her text messages and saw one in which she mentioned having been assaulted, the arrest warrant said.
Ferguson was also arrested in 1992 for indecent behavior with a juvenile, court records show. It appears that he pled guilty to a lesser crime and was sentenced to probation.
In the current case, Ferguson is being held on $100,000 bond, booking records show.
