Man arrested for extortion of legislator
MONROE - State Police accused a north Louisiana man of extorting a state representative.
Investigators said 31-year-old Roy Green sent an email saying that if the representative didn't support marijuana reform , he "would personally see to it that your office and livelihood are placed into danger."
During questioning investigators said Green told them he didn't remember sending an email, but he did post the message on Facebook.
Green was charged with extortion and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
