BATON ROUGE – Detectives say one man has been arrested and another is on the run after a double shooting outside a North Foster Drive nightclub Sunday.

38-year-old Mack Arthur Smith has been arrested for principal to second degree murder after he shot and killed Christopher Edwards on Oct. 23 around 1:30 a.m. at The Executive Club on North Foster Drive. A woman was also struck and transported to an area hospital where she is expected to live.

Detectives were able to get video surveillance footage from the club and the business next door. The footage showed Smith and his brother, Horace Smith, engaging in an argument with Edwards before Mack Smith and Horace Smith were removed from the club by security, according to police.

The footage showed that Horace Smith approached Edwards as he left the club and Mack Smith shooting and killing Edwards. The footage further shows the two fleeing the scene in their vehicle after the shooting took place.

On Oct. 26, a witness was able to positively identify Mack Smith in a photo line up as the shooter. He was arrested on charges of principal to second degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm.

Horace Smith is wanted for second degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. Police say Horace Smith should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on Horace Smith's whereabouts is asked to contact the BRPD Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869.
