BATON ROUGE – A man was arrested after beating his girlfriend's nine-year-old and four-year-old sons.

29-year-old Solomon Tramaine Commenia was arrested on two counts of cruelty to juveniles after the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office received a complaint about the physical abuse of two boys.

The nine-year-old boy told police that Solomon sometimes chokes him, puts his hands on his face and squeezes it and threatens to kill the boy if he tells. The boy also stated that he and his four-year-old brother are often whipped with plastic rods.

The boy stated that during one incident, Commenia threw his four-year-old brother in the bath tub filled with water, causing him to choke. Commenia then slapped the boy and yelled at him to stop crying.

Additionally, scratches and scars were on the boys' backs and faces, according to the arrest report.

The mother stated that she suspected that the children were abused when she saw the four-year-old crying in his sleep, begging Commenia not to hit him.

Commenia was arrested on the above charges. According to arrest records, Commenia has previous arrests for illegal carrying of firearms, resisting an officer, domestic violence and possession of stolen firearms.
