Man arrested for battery, threat of arson
BATON ROUGE - A man has been arrested for threatening to burn down his mother's house after a fight with his fiancee.
Police say Richard Farris was at his mother's house at 1102 Roundtree in Baton Rouge when he became violent and started breaking things.
The fiancee told police that Farris was upset after she spoke to another man at a store.
She said Farris grabbed her by the throat and pushed her down.
After the mother called a family member who was a member of law enforcement, police say Farris then threatened to burn down the house with his mother in it.
Farris is charged with battery, assault, criminal damage to property, and communication of false information of planned arson
