BATON ROUGE - Police used a Taser to subdue a man that allegedly told officers he would have them fired because he knew the District Attorney during an early Wednesday morning arrest.

26-year-old Adam Simoneaux was booked on charges of simple battery, criminal damage to public property, intimidation and resisting an officer after he was taken into custody at a South Acadian Thruway hotel at around 1:30 a.m.

Police say Simoneaux pushed a woman to the bed several times in his room with the victim's children present. He then went outside of the hotel room and punched out the glass window where the fire extinguisher was housed.

When officers arrived on the scene and began to process Simoneaux, he reportedly told the arresting officer, "I will have your badge, Hillar Moore (District Attorney) is my people."

The arrest reports says Simoneaux also made threats to the other officers present saying he “would have their badge" and that they didn’t "know who they were f***ing with.” Police sought to stop the disturbance by using a stun gun to subdue the man.

Simoneaux was placed under arrest and booked into the EBR Parish Prison on the above charges.
