BATON ROUGE - A man accused of attacking a woman at an apartment complex Sunday is now under arrest.

Police say Marvin Varnado chased a woman down to the parking lot of his complex, and dragged her by the the hair back to his apartment.

They say Varnado then threw her on the bed, put a pillow over her face, while saying he was going to kill her.

Someone then kicked open the door of the apartment, stopping the attack.

Varnado is charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder.

No word on the identity of the victim, or a motive in the attack.
