Man arrested for 5th DWI after high-speed chase
NAPOLEONVILLE - A man was arrested for his fifth DWI after deputies say he led them on a high-speed chase.
Deputies say Marty Jamison Sr. exceeded 100 miles per hour and eventually entered into Iberville Parish where he began to slow down and pull onto the shoulder of the highway. Jamison is accused of hitting a patrol car that was trying to stop him. The deputy fired at the car's tire to disable the vehicle. Deputies say the vehicle stopped shortly thereafter and the subject was taken into custody.
The arresting deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the suspect's breath and noticed there was an open beer bottle inside the vehicle, according to a release from Sheriff Mike Waguespack.
Jamison was booked into the parish prison on a list of charges.
