WBRZ - Baton Rouge

PONCHATOULA- A man is arrested in Tangipahoa Parish after a violent encounter and scuffle with a deputy at Julia Weathersby.

Julius Glass, 31, is charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, violent battery on an officer, and resisting arrest from an officer with violence or battery.

The deputy says when he arrived, Glass was in an extremely violent state, possibly from drugs or alcohol. He also says Glass was yelling and threatening him.

When the deputy tried to arrest him, a physical altercation broke out.

Glass was eventually placed in cuffs, and booked into Parish prison.
