UPDATE: Officials with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office say they've arrested one man after an attempted bank robbery this morning.

43-year-old Louis W. Allen of Denham Springs was arrested in suspicion of attempted armed robbery and other charges after the incident at Whitney National Bank on Jones Creek this morning.

According to the sheriff's office, Allen pulled up to the drive-through window and passed the teller a note demanding money. Witnesses told investigators that Allen also showed them a cardbord box, claiming it had a bomb inside.

Deputies arrived within two minutes after the bank called 911 and arrested Allen. The bomb squad also determined the box had no explosives in it.
