Man admits to having bad luck, losing store's money at casino
BATON ROUGE- Police arrested a man who, they say, admitted to trying to use his gas station's cash as seed money at an area casino.
Branchard McClendon told investigators, he was transporting cash from the convenience store he managed to the bank for the nightly deposit but a friend stole a part of the money. So, the man said, instead of reporting it, he took some of the leftover money to the casino and hoped to win back the difference but lost then took more money from the store safe the following day, hoping to win everything back but lost again.
McClendon was arrested at his house with illegal medication and, according to an arrest report in an emotional state.
He is charged with felony theft and possession of drugs.
