SLIDELL - Slidell police say a health store worker is accused of using a $200 company check to pay a prostitute after a back-room encounter.

Police spokesman Daniel Seuzeneau says surveillance cameras showed it all.

He says 24-year-old Charles West remained jailed Thursday. West was booked Wednesday on charges of theft, forgery and soliciting prostitution. Seuzeneau says he does not know if West has an attorney.

Police say West told investigators the woman walked in Monday evening and offered him oral sex for money.

Seuzeneau says the store's manager reviewed surveillance video after finding that a company check was missing.

He says cameras showed West talking with a woman around closing time Monday and taking her into the back room where subsequent events also were videotaped.
