Man accused of trying to kill pregnant girlfriend
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a 19-year-old Baton Rouge man after they said he tried to shoot and kill his pregnant girlfriend this morning.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said officers arrested Gregory Williams after the shooting around 1:30 a.m. at Kings Court Apartments.
Investigators said Williams shot his girlfriend multiple times in the head and one in the shoulder after an argument, then fled the scene. Police later found Williams at his home and arrested him.
McKneely said the victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
Williams will be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on attempted second-degree murder chargers later today.
