Man accused of stealing prescription pad
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police arrested a man who they said illegally obtained prescription drugs.
David Bell is accused of using doctors' DEA numbers without their permission, and calling in prescriptions for patients.
Police say Bell called in one prescription for hydrocodone in November, then picked up the drugs himself and charged the prescription to someone else's insurance. That person told investigators he'd never met Bell.
Bell is also accused of using the DEA number of another doctor and calling in prescriptions under another patient name on five occasions in January.
Bell faces fraud and drug charges.
