A man accused of shooting his roommate after an argument is in jail.

21 year old Edward Charles Brooks was taken into custody at a hotel in Hammond Tuesday night.

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's deputies were called to a house on Denova St. Sunday morning.

A shooting victim was found on the ground outside the house.

He was taken to the hospital, and is expected to recover.

Investigators were tipped to where Brooks was hiding.

He's charged with attempted second degree murder.
