Man accused of selling pot, bootleg DVDs arrested
BATON ROUGE - Police who were investigating an armed robbery arrested a man accused of trying to sell marijuana and bootleg movies on Wednesday.
Michael Lewis, 31, was taken into custody by officers at a location in the 9000 block of Airline Hwy. Police said they searched Lewis and found 13 individually-wrapped cellophane bags containing marijuana, along with 134 illegally copied movies on DVD-R discs.
Police said Lewis told officers he was "just trying to make a living" by selling the drugs and movies.
Lewis was booked on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and offenses against intellectual property.
