BATON ROUGE – Police say a Baton Rouge man was arrested Saturday after kidnapping a 7-year-old boy, driving him to an interstate exit then touching him.

According to arrest records, 33-year-old Deandre Contrill Nixon was visiting the victim’s mother at Baton Rouge Saturday. The victim’s mother had known Nixon for 12 years. The mother told investigators that Nixon paced her home before eventually leaving.

The mother told police that Nixon returned 15 minutes later, spoke with her briefly then left again. After Nixon left, the mother was unable to find her 7-year-old son.

Nixon then returned a second time 20 minutes later with the 7-year-old boy sitting in the back seat completely naked and screaming for his mother.

Arrest records say the mother was able to rescue her son and also pull Nixon from his car and restrain him while another family member contacted police.

The victim told investigators that Nixon accused the boy of stealing money from him before driving the boy to an interstate exit ramp. There, the boy said Nixon removed his pants, shirt and underwear and then touched his private parts. Nixon then returned to the boy’s home.

Baton Rouge Police arrived at the home and placed Nixon under arrest. Nixon refused to give a statement at the time of arrest. He was then transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Nixon was charged with second-degree kidnapping, sexual battery, and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
