BAYOU SORREL - Sheriff's deputies in Iberville Parish arrested a man they said hit two children waiting for the bus this morning, then left the scene.
Deputies arrested Mark Tullier, 52, in suspicion of hit and run, as well as driving under suspension, having expired plates and no insurance.
Investigators said Tullier hit two children in Bayou Sorrel while they were waiting for the school bus near Highway 75. The children told deputies Tullier stopped and made sure they were alright, then left the scene without notifying authorities or the children's parents.
They gave a description of his pickup to deputies, who found Tullier and arrested him.
Both children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and later released.
News 2's Olivia Laborde will have more on this incident tonight at 5 and 6.
