Man accused of beating child after fight with child's mother
BATON ROUGE- A Baton Rouge man has been arrested after a 4-year-old girl was beaten in January during an argument between two adults.
The Advocate reports 28-year-old Carl Anthony Robertson was arrested Sunday. A court document says Robertson is accused of causing bruising and swelling to the inner thigh of a girl sometime between Jan. 28 and 31 while they were at a motel.
Baton Rouge police say Robertson deliberately punched the girl in retaliation for a fight he had with the child's mother, who was present at the time of the attack.
Robertson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail on a count of cruelty to juveniles. It is unclear if he has a lawyer or why it took several months for charges to be pressed.
