NAPOLEONVILLE - Sheriff's deputies in Assumption Parish said they arrested a man on Sunday accused of attempted rape after he gave a woman a ride home from a local watering hole, locked her in her own home and began to disrobe in her living room.

The victim told detectives that 58-year-old Henry Buggage of Belle Rose gave her a ride home from a Paincourtville sports bar, only to lock the door behind her to prevent her escape. The man later appeared in her living room half-naked, according to detectives.

Investigators said the woman's 16-year-old son intervened during the attempted rape and chased Buggage from the home.

Deputies took Buggage into custody and booked him into Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of attempted rape and home invasion.
