Man accused of attempted murder after wreck, stabbing
PIERRE PART – Authorities in Assumption Parish have accused a man of attempted murder after they said he ran a vehicle with his ex-girlfriend and another man inside off the road.
21-year-old Tal Gaudet was arrested today and booked into the parish jail in suspicion of two counts of attempted second degree murder.
On Dec. 5 the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a woman who said Gaudet was trying to run her car off of Highway 69. Investigators said a male friend of the woman was driving, and Gaudet hit their vehicle with his several times before they wrecked into a culvert.
Investigators said Gaudet got out of his vehicle and began to “aggressively run” at the wrecked car, and the male driver defended himself with a knife that was in the vehicle, stabbing Gaudet in the midsection before running to get help.
Gaudet was arrested after being released from the hospital today. His bond was set at $100,000 and authorities said he remains in jail at this time.
