BATON ROUGE - A man accused of strangling and robbing a couple in Baton Rouge is fighting extradition back to Louisiana.

42-year-old Ernesto Llerena Alonso is currently in jail in Florida where he taken into custody by law enforcement. He's charged in the murder of Denis and Suzanne Duplantier, who were found beaten to death at a truck stop near Hammond last week.

Alonso worked on the couple's property as a handyman.

Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore says the paperwork is being done to get the man back to Louisiana as soon as possible.
