Man accused in EBR gun battle
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies arrested a Baton Rouge man who investigators said was involved in a gunfight in the northeast part of the parish.
Deputies charged Justin Stoute, 19, with attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon after his arrest Monday.
Investigators said Stoute admitted to exchanging fire with a group of people he'd been arguing with just before 2 a.m. Monday on Joor Road. Deputies said Stoute also showed them text messages on his phone between the people involved with the shooting, including one message before the shooting which said "You don't want none of this glock."
Deputies booked Stoute into the parish jail.
