Man abandons in-gear car during traffic stop
SHREVEPORT - Police in Shreveport are trying to determine why a man abandoned his car, leaving it in gear as he fled what started out as a routine traffic stop.
The car rolled away, coming to a stop atop a guard rail on Shreveport's Portland Street Bridge.
Nobody injuries were reported. KSLA TV reports that the driver was found later Thursday at a Shreveport house. Charges were pending.
Police had stopped him to give him a ticket for failing to use his seat belt.
