Mall of Louisiana closed, evacuated after brawl
BATON ROUGE- East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Deputies closed and evacuated the Mall of Louisiana tonight after a large fight broke out this evening.
It happened around 6:00pm near the food court. Deputies say at least 200 juveniles dispersed inside and outside the mall.
The chaos sent people inside running for cover. People told News 2, managers shut and locked security gates that line the perimeter of stores and pushed customers into the back of the stores.
Officials are working to clear the entire area right now. All of the juveniles are being escorted to BJ's and Bravo Restaurants where their parents are being called to pick them up.
Deputies have been told that there was reportedly a post on social media about a flash mob at the mall allegedly drawing a crowd to the area.
Contraflow has been put into place to get everyone away from the area.
No one was seriously hurt.
Deputies have promised to charge those responsible. Click HERE for that story.
