TVs back on after multi-parish cable outage
BATON ROUGE - An equipment failure is being blamed for a cable outage that knocked out TV sets in several parishes.
A spokesperson for Cox Communication said an outage at 10:43 a.m. affected digital and analog video channels for many of their customers, and they were able to restore services in under an hour.
Public Affairs Manager Sharon Bethea said they are investigating what caused the outage now that services have been restored.
Internet services were still active during the outage and people took to social media to share information. Bethea confirmed customers were affected in East Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston, Pointe Coupee and West Baton Rouge parishes.
