Magic Johnson starting TV network
Beverly Hills - Magic Johnson is launching a cable TV network targeting African Americans.
The 24-hour "Aspire" channel will have programs with positive, uplifting images of African Americans according to 52-year-old Johnson.
Aspire's programming mix will include movies, TV shows, music, comedy, performing arts and shows about faith.
The former Los Angeles Lakers star said his channel will also offer opportunities for African Americans who have struggled to find work in mainstream Hollywood.
Aspire is scheduled to go on-the-air June 30th.
