BATON ROUGE - LSU Police asked for the public's help today finding the people responsible for a sexual assault that happened on the college campus more than a week ago.

LSUPD sent out a campus-wide email alert Wednesday which asked for tips in the case of a woman raped while a group of men watched near West Lakeshore Drive on Oct. 7.

Investigators said the victim was approached by a group of men while in an area north of the Lod Cook Alumni Center. Police said one of the men grabbed the woman and forced her to have sex with him while the other men watched.

Capt. Cory Lalonde said the victim did not notify LSU Police until Oct. 11. He also said there were no cameras in the area the rape took place.

Tips in this investigation can be anonymously submitted to the LSU Police on their website, or through the free LSU SHIELD app for smartphones.
