Thirty-two positions including faculty, and seven unfilled jobs will be eliminated at LSU-Alexandria because of an estimated $2.6 million shortfall in the 2010-11 budget year.
Chancellor David Manuel says he submitted his plan to LSU system President John Lombardi this week.
Manuel said the shortfall mainly is due to the projected loss of federal stimulus dollars.
Manuel also said increased costs from unfunded mandates such as employee health insurance and retirement is contributing to the dire financial picture, even with tuition increases that would
bring in an estimated $710,000 more.
