LSU women's basketball coach gives birth to girl

BATON ROUGE - LSU women's basketball head coach Nikki Caldwell is now the proud mother of a newborn baby girl.

Justice Simone Fargas was born at 5:44 a.m. Tuesday at 6 pounds, 15 ounces. The baby and Caldwell left the hospital and are now at home with Caldwell's boyfriend Justin Fargas.

"We are doing great and excited about this beautiful moment in our lives," said Caldwell. "Being a mother has always been a dream of mine. Justin and I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support from our LSU family and fans. I will be back on the court soon."

Calwell and her team will be know their seeding and game time for the NCAA Tournament Monday when the 64 teams are announced on ESPN at 6 p.m. The Lady Tigers will host the first and second rounds at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. 

Caldwell will coach in the NCAA Tournament, which will be LSU's 21st all-time appearance and first since 2010.
