LSU websites hijacked
Baton Rouge- Five LSU website have been hijacked.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, LSU says the domain names for LSUsports.net, lsudining.com, lsupix.net, lsuauctions.net, lsuday.com and lsu150.com were taken by someone out of the country when they hacked into the GoDaddy.com system. GoDaddy.com hosts those domain names for the university, and is what pops up when internet users try to access the websites.
The athletic department's back-up website, LSUsports.com, was unaffected and is working.
GoDaddy.com tells News 2 the breach was specific to LSU's account, but it was just for the domain names, not personal information. The company tells the university it will be a day or two before the websites are back online.
