LSU vs Alabama: the one-sided rivalry
BATON ROUGE - LSU fans despise Alabama.
The animosity toward the top Tiger turned traitor, Nick Saban, still stings in Tiger country and LSU fans are quick to tell you about it.
"LSU hates 'Bama," fan Sydney Fletcher said."No one cares about Alabama."
But while tiger fans see red when the Crimson Tide rolls in, Alabama fans don't harbor the same feelings.
"We just like beating LSU," Alabama fan Adam Goldstein said.
"I've always wanted to beat LSU at night in Tiger Stadium," Alabama fan Luke Tashie said Friday night ahead of the game Saturday.
Those kinds of harsh statements have fueled the hate Tiger fans feel for the team and its leader, Saban. Many agree the hatred is one-sided.
"I definitely think LSU hates Alabama more. We have a lot more reasons to make fun of them and just dislike them. I feel like we have more of a spirit to beat them as well," Fletcher said.
"I think because Saban went there. I know my family doesn't like Alabama that much," LSU fan Louis Mykoff said. "I would agree [LSU hates Alabama more]."
"We really don't hate LSU," Goldstein said.
"LSU hates Alabama.... kind of a big brother little brother type thing," Tashie said. "You can't really hate the little brother."
LSU faces Alabama Saturday in Tiger Stadium shortly after 7 p.m.
