LSU Tiger baseball beats Auburn 9-4 in game one

The LSU Tiger baseball team started their home SEC opener off in the right direction with a pair of home runs on the way to a 9-4 victory over Auburn.

LSU left fielder Raph Rhymes hit his first home run of the season and pushed the Tiger to a 3-1 lead that they never surrendered.

Mason Katz also belted a two run home run to continue his hot streak at the plate.  Katz finished the night 2 for 4 with 3 RBI while freshman shortstop Alex Bregman was 3 for 4 with three runs scored.

The Tigers will resume their rivalry Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m..
