LSU takes the lead, 2-1 in 3rd inning
BATON ROUGE - The Tigers pulled aheda of Oklahoma in the second inning on a hard-hit RBI single by National Freshman of the Year Alex Bregman, plating Mark Laird from third base. Laird led off the inning with a double, but the lanky freshman made it to third base on an error by the OU right fielder.
Bregman then proceeded to steal second base, then take third on an error by the catcher when the throw hit the freshman while he was sliding into the second. The shortstop didn't make it home, because Raph Rhymes struck out two pitches later.
LSU starter Ryan Eades struggled again in the second inning but didn't allow a run. Eades stranded two runners and has given up three hits thus far through two innings. Relief pitcher Nate Fury was seen warming up in the LSU bullpen.
LSU leads OU 2-1 in the bottom of the third inning.
