LSU student accused of shooting at mother
BATON ROUGE - LSU officials said the campus police department arrested a female student accused of shooting at her mother during an off-campus incident.
Campus spokesperson Ernie Ballard said on Monday, LSU Police were contacted by the stepfather of Nicole Lea Boover, 19. Ballard said police were told Boover had shot at her mother several times while at their New Orleans home, then fled. Ballard said the stepfather told them he thought Boover was on her way back to campus with a male friend.
LSU Police contacted NOPD, who confirmed they were investigating the shooting and getting an arrest warrant for Boover. Campus police found Boover's vehicle a while later on South Campus Drive with the friend inside, and then found Boover herself a short time later at her on-campus residence.
NOPD and LSU Police officers searched the vehicle and residence, and said they found marijuana in the vehicle.
Boover was charged with attempted first-degree murder and marijuana possession.
