LSU standouts Hill, Landry celebrate with local NFL draft parties
BATON ROUGE - The second day of the NFL draft was a day of celebration for LSU standouts Jeremy Hill and Jarvis Landry, each of whom hosted a draft party and each of whom heard their names called to Friday night.
In Central, Hill watched with family and friends as the Cincinnati Bengals took Hill with the 23rd pick in the second round.
"My body was trembling," Hill said. "It was surreal, it was like an out of body experience. It felt like a dream."
Meanwhile at the Renaissance hotel in Baton Rouge, it took Landry a little longer to hear his name called, but tears of joy flowed freely when Landry finally got the call from the Miami Dolphins taking him with the 31st pick in the 2nd round.
""Of course, every guy that went after the first guy, they wanted to go earlier," Landry said. "But it was God placing me where I needed to be."
