LSU softball splits Saturday doubleheader at LSU invitational
BATON ROUGE - The LSU Tigers won their 3rd straight game to start the LSU Invitational, but didn't get out of the weekend unscathed as they topped Illinois in the afternoon game but lost to #10 Minnesota in the nightcap.
Allie Walljasper pitched a shutout against the Illini and the Tigers picked up 3 runs in the 5th inning to take a 3-0 win over Illinois, but the Golden Gophers proved a tougher challenge.
Carley Hoover gave up 2 runs in the 4th and 1 in the 6th as the Gophers shut out the Tigers 3-0.
The Tigers finish the LSU Invitational with 2 more games on Sunday: first against Florida Atlantic at 1pm and then Troy at 3pm at Tiger Park.
