STARKVILLE – The LSU softball offense went to work Sunday, creating fireworks and routing the Mississippi State Bulldogs with a big 12-1 win in Starkville.

LSU earned its second Southeastern Conference win on the road. The Tigers earned 12 runs on 12 hits to earn a five-inning, series clinching win.

LSU head coach Beth Torina said Sunday’s win is a big boon to her team’s confidence.

“I think this was a big series for us to move this team forward and continue to build our confidence,” Torina said. “I think we’ve been trying to get better all season long, and I like how we improved this weekend.”

LSU softball will return to Baton Rouge Wednesday to take on the Northwestern State Lady Demons. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Tiger Park.
