LSU's Moore picked in sixth round by Mets
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge product and LSU 1B/C Tyler Moore was selected Friday in the sixth round by the New York Mets.
Moore wasn't drafted coming out of Dunham High School, but turned in an outstanding junior season for the Tigers to bring his draft stock up.
The SEC Tournament's Most Outstanding Player was the second player selected from the 2014 LSU Baseball team.
Moore played in 53 games for the Bayou Bengals, emassing a .301 batting average, 37 RBI, and 6 home runs in his junior campaign.
The former Dunham Tiger is expected to make the jump to Major League Baseball as part of the Mets organization.
