LSU's Fournette makes it 3 weeks for LSWA honors
BATON ROUGE - The voters for Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week honors agreed with the Southeastern Conference and gave offensive honors for the third straight week to LSU running back Leonard Fournette.
Fournette rushed for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns, the most ever for an LSU player in a road game in Saturday's 34-24 win for the Tigers at Syracuse.
But the performances of the other two LSWA recipients was nothing to sneeze at either as Beau Fitte of Louisiana Tech was the unanimous choice among the 15 votes cast for defensive honors and Martez Carter of Grambling grabbed special teams honors.
