LSU's Brazil arrested again
BATON ROUGE - Police recently arrested LSU freshman football player Jeryl Brazil. It's his second run-in with authorities in as many months.
LSU Police arrested the 19-year-old defensive back on Friday, Oct. 18, after they said he grabbed a woman by the neck, shoved her into a sofa and punched a hole in the wall of her apartment.
Police said they were told Brazil was upset and the victim and her roommates were trying to calm him down when the incident happened at the West Campus Apartments. Police said the victim and witnesses did not elaborate what he was angry about.
Police arrested Brazil at the same apartment complex and issued him a midemeanor summons for simple battery and simple criminal damage to property.
Brazil received another misdemeanor summons back on Sept. 11 when police said he fought someone behind a dining hall on the LSU campus.
