LSU's Beckham Jr. named to Biletnikoff watch list
BATON ROUGE - LSU announced today that junior wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was named to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, presented to the most outstanding receiver in college football.
Beckham Jr. is one of 75 players and 13 SEC wideouts named to the list by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club. He's also one of five Tigers to make preseason individual award watch lists.
The winner of the Belitnikoff Award is chosen by more than 200 prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers.
Beckham Jr. had a team-high 713 yards receiving as a sophomore in 2012, and was second in receptions with 43. He ranked 13th in the league in receiving yards per game with 54.3, averaged 12.9 yards each time he touched the football, and accounted for 1,784 all-purpose yards on 138 attempts in his two previous seasons.
The winner will be announced on live Dec. 12. LSU previously brought home the honor in 2001 during Josh Reed's All-American season.
