LSU's Ballard earns SEC freshman honors
BATON ROUGE- For the third time this season, LSU guard Danielle Ballard has been recognized as the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week after leading the Lady Tigers to a 2-1 record last week.
Ballard combined for 57 points, 24 rebounds, nine steals, six assists and one block in LSU's games against New Orleans, Ole Miss and Florida. She leads all SEC freshmen in scoring with 15.2 points per game and is also tops among freshmen in 20-point scoring games with five.
Ballard shot a season-best 83.8 percent (10-of-12) while scoring 20 points in a win over UNO.
