LSU preparing for Dak Prescott
BATON ROUGE - As the LSU Tigers prepare for their SEC opener against Mississippi State, the defensive players say Bulldogs quarterback Dak Prescott has their full attention and utmost respect.
Prescott is currently 4th in the SEC in yards per game, accounting for 323 yards per game in his first three contests.
Prescott is the league's 7th rated passer (232 ypg) and also the 8th best rusher (91 ypg). It's that dual threat ability that has the Tigers preparing carefully.
"He's strong, a guy that stands back in the pocket, knows what he's looking at, makes the throws and has the ability to pull it down," said LSU head coach Les Miles.
"He runs with strength...he carves through the ground very quickly and when you go to tackle him, you better hit him hard. You better take him off his feet because he's just a big, physical kid."
The Bulldogs are 3-0 with wins over Southern Miss, UAB and South Alabama and Prescott has already accounted for 12 touchdowns: 9 passing, 2 rushing and 1 receiving.
"He's a fast, physical guy and we're gonna have to bring the physicality to him," said LSU linebacker Duke Riley.
