BATON ROUGE - The new and 'old' Tigers meshed together to get the season rolling for LSU in a 80-45 blowout win over Xavier(New Orleans).
Jordan Mickey and Jarell Martin impressed fans with dunks galore in the first half; Mickey finished with 12 points, eight blocks, and six rebounds, while Martin accounted for 11 points in their debuts.
Andre Stringer led all scores with 22, including six three-pointers to spark the LSU offensive attack.
Malik Morgan contributed 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
The Tigers were hot from behind the arc, shooting 13-for-27 from three-point land.
LSU starts the regular season with a road trip to the University of Massachusetts Tuesday at 10am CT as part of the Tip-Off Marathon on the ESPN networks.
