LSU opens spring practice
BATON ROUGE - LSU has opened spring football practice with some players at new positions and a couple of regulars sitting out while recovering from offseason surgeries.
Senior defensive end Jermauria Rasco is recovering from shoulder procedures and junior safety Corey Thompson from knee surgery.
Coach Les Miles said after Saturday's opening practice that both could return before spring practice ends.
Those changing positions include: Jalen Mills moving from cornerback to safety; Kwon Alexander from strong side to weak side linebacker; Rob Bolden from quarterback to receiver; and Lamar Louis from middle to outside linebacker.
Anthony Jennings is the only quarterback returning with any experience, working alongside freshman Brandon Harris and redshirt freshman Hayden Rettig.
The Tigers will practice 15 times this spring, concluding with their annual intra-squad game April 5.
