LSU opens regional with 11-7 win over Jackson State
BATON ROUGE - After a quiet week in Hoover, the LSU offense returned to form in its Regional opening win against Jackson State.
LSU scored multiple runs in the first, third, fourth and sixth innings. Mason Katz and Jared Foster highlighted the scoring as each hit two-run homers. It was part of a very productive day for Katz, who finished with four RBIs.
On the mound, LSU pitchers had a shaky day. Starting pitcher Ryan Eades gave up the game's first two runs before being taken out in the second inning. Five more Tiger pitchers came on after that, giving up five more runs.
LSU eventually held on for the 11-7 win.
